Transportation in Barcelona

The public transportation system of Barcelona is very good. It consists of the metro, buses, trams, funicular, taxis and even bikes. The different transportation means can take you exactly to the places you need to, in any time and with great level of precision and convenience. The public transportation in Barcelona is efficient and pretty cheap. Most of its most popular sites of the city are in reasonable walking distance.
Note: In my opinion, there is no actual reason why to rent a car inside the city.

Outside Barcelona

Undoubtedly, to Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, there is a lot to offer, but there are also many places that are worth a visit, in a short distance outside the city itself. One of the most popular is the Montserrat monastery, for example, that is located in a distance of 1 hour away from the city. Another place is the wild beaches of Costa Brave.
Figueres, the city of Salvador Dali, or the old city of Jirona are other interesting places to visit in.
It is worthwhile and recommended to go out from the city in order to complete the experience of visiting Barcelona.
Peek at least one of those tour destinations and go to a one day (or half day) trip outside Barcelona.
